I can finally call the Shelby/Arning drop complete… got it aligned this afternoon.
Before that, though, I had to do just a little bit of filing to get the upper control arms to go in. I also had to hammer out the back of the driver’s side shock tower a bit, as the grease fitting was up against the tower. I pulled some of the shims from all of the bolts, but I ended up with obvious positive camber when I put it back together. So it needed aligned really badly (apart from the wander and everything it already had).
I gave the shop that aligned it the DazeCar’s specs (DazeCar’s Shelby/Arning Drop article). The guy I talked to couldn’t give me the specs that they ended up at since they did it “old-school,” but it feels pretty good. It’s definitely nicer than it was. It also dropped the car a bit (maybe 1/2”?), and I rather like it. Those 13” wheels are still weird looking on it though…
