I actually did this about a month ago, but never posted about it. I picked up the Scott Drake export brace and got it installed, but it was a bit of a pain. It wouldn’t quite drop in, even if I jacked the car up along the engine crossmember like some people suggest. I ended up having to slot the mounting holes (where it bolts to the cowl) a little bit and then I got it in. The brace did seem to help stiffen the front end up a bit, though it didn’t make quite as much of a difference as some people seem to claim. Ah well. My hood started squeaking a couple days after I installed it though… not totally sure if that’s related or not, but the squeaking is definitely annoying.
